Made in Clacks
The Made in Clacks shop supports local makers by showcasing and selling their products. This gives vendors a platform to be part of a thriving local enterprise and in an ideal place for local people and visitors.
The range includes everything from crafts, wax melts and candles, walking sticks, jewellery and food products. The range is growing and if you are interested in using the Alloa Hub, then please get in touch to find out how it works for sellers.
Exploring the area & The Clackmannanshire Tapestry
The shop provides a wide range of items helpful to your visit, including walking books, maps, guides, local history books and even midgie repellent and hiking boot deodorisers!
This includes the Clackmannanshire Tapestry Handbook, which will give some interesting historical background to your travels around the county.
Clackmannnshire Tartan
Finally the Alloa Hub is home to a range of unique Clackmannanshire Tartan products to remember your trip by.
The Clackmannanshire Tartan was designed as part of a Secondary School competition, and the winner, Ronan Anderson, a pupil from Dollar Academy, has his work on display. The Tartan, which is made up of the colours of the county, is now registered with the Scottish Tartans Society.
The tartan has been woven by a local weaving company, Taffled Threads and made into a range of products here in Clackmannanshire. All profits raised from the sale of items will be invested back into the Alloa Hub services.
Items from the tartan range can be purchased at a wholesale rate for sale in other venues across Clackmannanshire.
